ROSIE SCHRÖDER
"TO CREATE A WORK OF ART INVOLVES SOMETIMES A VISION AND SOMETIMES A FEELING
BUT ALWAYS IT INVOLVES SOUL.”
Rosie Schröder was raised on a farm in the Niagara Peninsula
until she left for the University of Toronto. Farm life taught
her the respect and appreciation for nature that today she uses to
nurture her soul and draw inspiration from for her paintings and collages.
Initially, her inspirations compelled her to focus on representational
paintings in oil and watercolour. Today nature inspires her through line,
colour and form to create both representational as well as abstractions
and non-objective works in a variety of media.
Rosie has taken a variety of art courses over the years:
- Multi media at York University
- Portraiture in oils at the Ontario College of Art and Design

- Portraiture drawing at the College of Art and Design
- Figurative studies with artist Derek Greene and Peter Kolisnyk
- Abstraction and collage with Mary Wood
- Print making with Margaret Peters, Linda Blix and VJ Geard
- Acrylics with Lila Lewis Irving and Steve Rose
- Encaustics with Susan Fisher
