Map
Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for set up. Tea/coffee and
snacks will be complimentary but please bring your own lunch (optionally your
own coffee cup).
Please bring a plastic sheet to cover the table.
Bring your regular supplies for painting with acrylics. Marianne's
suggested supply list is as follows:
PAINTS Marianne uses mostly fluids (Golden) and some soft body (Liquitex).
If you have other paints bring them. Colour choices are your own.
Suggested most important colours:
- Primary Magenta or Quinacradone Crimson or Alizarin Crimson
- Cadmium Red Medium Hue or Napthol Red Light
- Primary Yellow or Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue
- Primary Cyan or Ultramarine Blue
- Burnt Sienna or Quinacradone Burnt Orange
- Titanium White - you will need lots of this
Suggested optional colours:
- Cadmium Orange Hue
- Naples Yellow
- Quinacradone Nickel Azo Gold
- Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre
- Red Oxide
- Permanent Violet Dark or Dioxazine Purple
- Chromium Oxide Green or Sap Green
- Burnt Umber
MEDIUMS
Acrylic Matte Medium (liquid) - needed if you are not using fluid or soft body paints
Molding paste and/or any other texture mediums - pumice gel, granular medium or clean sand
SUPPORT Primed stretched canvases or canvas boards from 16x20 to 24x30 or larger.
Bring at least 2 in different sizes and shapes.
BRUSHES Synthetic acrylic brushes, not bristle oil painting brushes.
- 1 ½ and 2 inch flat
- 1/2”, 3/4”, 1” brights (short flat)
- No 4 or 6 round
- No 4 or 6 rigger
PALETTE Large Sta-Wet palette and/or disposable palette or paper/foam plates with cling wrap to cover.
OTHER
- Cheap watercolour paper
- Small sketchbook or scrap white paper, notebook, pen and pencil
- Colour wheel (Quiller or CMY are the best)
- Smock or apron and wear painting clothes!
- Plastic container for water
- Paper towel AND old rag or shop cloths (blue roll from Canadian Tire)
- Plastic sheet to protect table
- Spray bottle
- Water-soluble pencils and blackboard chalk
- Photos to work from. Reference pictures will also be provided
- Easel if you like to work upright
